  The use of the field-bus and  distributed-intelligence philosophy has granted scalable and fully expandable systems. Each individual sub-systems is perfectly working independently from the other components.

Monitoring stations are user-friendly PCs, directly linked to the bus-field or, through Lon/LAN converters, to the building LAN.

 

The modules represent the basic components of the whole systems.

They are individually programmed and are able to manage the field elements even in case of a bus line crash.

Depending on the specific applications the modules have different identities.

Moreover future changes in the building layout, whether to move plants, replace or add services, or expand the system, are easily achieved. Data are exchanged with the subsystems both at remote bus level or at the central unit. Each module communicates with the other local components in an independent way, without the aid of the supervisor. Switching on, switching off and every modulations are done according to the resident program of each module, while field information are sent to the host to be monitored and/or recorded. Many different kinds of already installed systems, i.e. thermal controls, antiintrusion and industrial parameters handling are integrated through some local gateways.
