detectOne is the security booth for a quick one-step individuals control. Explosives, radioactive hazards, weapons are checked together with biometric data, while video images are recorded simultaneously.

Product history
detectOne was designed to detect exploding materials at every people crossing through the booth thanks to the new FAUST vapours emission sensing system. In conjunction with a metal detector, a biometric checking device, a radioactivity sensor and a built-in camera it becomes an effective tool for an all-round security screening in just one step. Through a carefully designed, forced air flow, vapours originating from explosives are brought to FAUST. They are then analyzed by 12 sensing probes in less than 7 seconds: a 3 people/minute checking ability is easily achieved.

Technology present in the FAUST product line was developed in collaboration with the Department of Materials Science of the University of Milano Bicocca. It is based on the use of chemical sensors made of silicon dedicated to the gaseous molecules tracing. These sensors emulate the behaviour of the proteins in the sense of smell receptors of mammals. They grant at the same time an exceptional sensitivity (around one thousandth of mg per cubic meter of analyzed air volume) and an extraordinary selection ability. FAUST technology radically differ from the methodologies commonly used in explosives detection in prevention and security installations. FAUST is equipped with miniaturized chemical sensors working at constant temperature for an immediate recognition of the molecular structure in gases. No separation columns, nor electric fields or radioactive sources are requested. FAUST allows an optimal miniaturization level in the security and counter terrorism installations. FAUST continuously updates explosives database: a guarantee that the product will not quickly become obsolete even in presence of new exploding mix in use at terrorist organizations. This result is achieved through a data handling software developed in conjunction with the Polytechnical School of Milan.

Specifically designed for this new, integrated product, it conveys the air and its components into the FAUST sensing devices at a controlled temperature.
