RDS 16 Metal Detector, designed and manufactured by Tonali, shows an high discrimination rate between weapons and innocuous metal objects (keys, coins ).

Guns built with not magnetic metal alloys are detected too: RDS 16 analyses and picks out their typical response.

Weapons are evenly detected along the whole antennas length; however discrimination between weapons and metal is not even: it gradually decreases in the highest and lowest part of the antennas, while the same detection ability level is retained.

In order to avoid possible interferences RDS 16 boast an infinitesimal multifrequency setting capacity. Multiple devices can be closely positioned and still work in a correct way through a synchronising cable: up to 4 units can operate simultaneously, even if they are in contact. The perfect synchronism avoids continuous false alarms activated by the interferences between the transmitting element of one unit and the receiving one of another, which are particularly evident in a close space as it can be found in an Access Control Installation with many Metal Detectors side by side.

The two antennas are electronically driven with a Vibration Damping System. They are not sensitive to small or large vibrations: detection is not affected by interferences and false alarms are not generated.

RDS PLUS Metal Detector, in addition to the RDS 16 usual performances, boasts a particularly developed discrimination capacity among personal belongings normally carried by people crossing controlled gates, while fully retaining weapons detection ability.

RDS 16 m.z., the walk-through metal detector, adds the Weapon Position Indicator option. A vertical, led bar along the antenna height clearly shows the metal object localization. The great visibility of single or multiple weapons indications suggests its use in high security areas where large protection guarantees are requested and minimal alarms, generated by personal belongings, are a must, independently from high passage rates.

RDS is programmed through its own console or via a P.C. and dedicated software.
